Hi, my name is Michelle May! I am a filmmaker, dancer, and travel content creator with a passion for storytelling across various artistic mediums. My journey has taken me from dance floors around the world to working on major film productions such as the Avatar sequels.

Filmmaking and Production

With a Bachelor of Arts in World Arts and Cultures/Dance and a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media from UCLA, I have developed a strong foundation in both the digital and performative arts. Currently, I am a Production Coordinator on the Avatar sequels, where I support a team of artists in the creation of VFX sequences from initial builds, utilizing actors’ performance capture data, to supporting James Camerons’s virtual cinematography sessions. My work in film is driven by a desire to capture compelling narratives and explore the limitless possibilities of visual storytelling.

Travel Content Creation

As a travel content creator, I collaborate with various hotels and brands such as Marriott and Guayaki to produce engaging content that highlights unique destinations and experiences. My love for nature and adventure fuels my creative process. Through my lens, I aim to inspire others to explore the world and discover the beauty in the diversity of our world.

Dance

Dance has been an integral part of my life since a young age. Growing up in Los Angeles, I immersed myself in a diverse arts and culture scene, eventually finding a deep connection with tap dance. Studying under renowned tap dancer Sarah Reich, I performed with the Tap Music Project, Co.MMIT, and other prestigious companies. My experiences in tap dance have taken me around the world, where I have had the privilege of performing and connecting with people through this universal language.

As I continue to evolve in my career, I remain committed to exploring new horizons and pushing the boundaries of my creative endeavors. Whether through film, travel content, or dance, I strive to tell stories that resonate with audiences and inspire a sense of wonder and curiosity.
